PROCEDURES FOR STAFF MOBILITY
Staff is understood as all academic teaching and non-teaching staff assigned to a higher education institution, on a full-time basis.


Staff is all teachers and non-academic staff allocated to the higher education institution, in a full-time work regime.

I. ERASMUS STAFF MOBILITY FOR TEACHING:

All ISCE/ISCE Douro academic staff are very welcome to participate in mobility under the Erasmus program. Your participation is subject to the following criteria:

  • Staff must carry out their mobility in a program country different from the sending country and the country of residence.
  • Be employed full-time at ISCE/ISCE Douro.
  • Staff who have never completed an Erasmus mobility will have priority.
  • There must be an interinstitutional agreement in force with the host entity.
  • The minimum recommended duration for pedagogical mobility is 2 days, with teaching activity of a minimum of 8 hours of teaching.
  • The announcement of pedagogical mobility is made once per academic year.
  • The trip must take place between July 1st (of one year) and September 30th (of the following year).
  • The grant is not intended to cover the full cost of the trip.
  • The request must be made to the CCRI within the published application deadlines.
  • If an approved mobility is not carried out, this does not imply automatic selection into the next pedagogical mobility program.

  • Staff must carry out their mobility activity in a Program Country different from the country of the sending institute and country of residence.
  • Staff should be full time employees of ISCE/ISCE Douro.
  • Erasmus priority will be given to staff who have never undertaken an Erasmus Staff mobility placement.
  • An Inter-institutional Agreement with the Host University should be in place.
  • The recommended minimum duration for teaching mobility is 2 days with the associated delivery of a minimum of 8 hours of teaching.
  • The call for teaching mobility is announced once per academic year.
  • Travel must take place between 1st July and 30th September (of the following year).
  • The grant is not intended to cover the full cost of the trip.
  • The application must be made to the CCRI within the application deadlines.
  • In the event an approved mobility is not realized, this does not imply an automatic nomination for the next call for proposals for Teaching mobility.
Step 1
The CCRI communicates all information and updates regarding the Erasmus program to all Staff, through the academic coordinator of each course. Academic coordinators represent their course at international relations, programs and mobility meetings.

The final ranking decision must be justified in writing and signed by the President of ISCE/ISCE Douro.

A ranked list of the applicants should be submitted by the academic coordinators, to the CCRI by the 30th October of each academic year. All applications should be examined in consultation with the institution president.
When ranking the applications the following criteria should be taken into consideration:

  • Priority should be given to applicants who have never participated in the Program.

  • There is an active Inter-institutional Agreement with the Host Entity.

  • The added value of the trip to ISCE/ISCE Douro as stated on the form by the applicant.

  • The timing of the mobility.

The final ranking decision should be justified in writing and be signed by the President of ISCE/ISCE Douro.

Soon after November 30th, the CCRI will allocate the funding set by the National Agency guidelines and present it for evaluation. Depending on the number of applications and according to the grant available, the CCRI will decide on the finalists for mobility and the duration of each one.

Once the teaching mobility is approved, it is expected to be carried out based on the specific application submitted. However, in special cases where teaching mobility cannot be carried out, the applicant has the opportunity to request a new teaching mobility destination, provided that the funding (subsistence and travel) allocated is in line with the approved initial funding or smaller. In this case, a new application of the 'Teaching Mobility Funding Application Form' before being submitted for approval by the International Relations, Programs and Mobility Committee must be completed by the applicant and signed/approved by the President of ISCE/ISCE Douro. This must be given a precise and well-documented explanation, based on, but not limited to, the negotiations that the applicant made with the host entity, explaining the reasons why the initial attempt at teaching mobility failed.

Following the decision, CCRI will inform the academic coordinators about the grant allocation. The academic coordinators will inform the nominees accordingly. Once teaching mobility is approved, it is expected that it will be realized based on the specific application submitted. However, in special cases where the teaching mobility cannot be realized the applicant has the opportunity to apply for a new teaching mobility destination, provided that the funding (subsistence and travel) required, will balance the funding of the initial approved destination, or it is lower. In this case, a new application of “Teaching Mobility Funding Request Form” before it is submitted for approval to the CCRI, should be completed by the applicant and signed/approved by the President of the ISCE/ISCE Douro. An accurate and well documented explanation should be given, based, but not limited, to the negotiations the applicant has made with the host Entity, as to why the initial attempt for teaching mobility has failed.

  • The request must be made to the CCRI within the published application deadlines.
  • If an approved mobility is not carried out, this does not imply automatic selection into the next pedagogical mobility program.
