| PRESENTATION
Basic Education provides the acquisition of academic skills, of a scientific nature, fundamental and consistent with the teaching levels to which graduates can progress, when selecting their master's area, as well as the acquisition of skills that facilitate integration into teams multidisciplinary support and cooperation within and outside the educational system.
Our Degree in Basic Education is structured to meet the highest quality standards defined by the Bologna model, fundamentally:
- Students have a platform (Blackboard) that facilitates the management of learning time.
- Possibility of international internships in Europe, the United States and Portuguese-speaking countries.
- Title recognized in all European countries that adhere to the Bologna process.
- Access to MCTES-DGES SCHOLARSHIPS for all low-income students.
- Possibility of reconciling students’ professional lives with attending the course.
- Availability of access to higher education through general access and special admission regimes (over 23 years old, transfer, re-entry and change of course).

| DURATION
- 1st Cycle: 6 semesters (180 ECTS) - Degree in Basic Education
- 2nd Cycle:
- 3 semesters (90 ECTS): - Master in Pre-School Education
- 4 semesters (120 ECTS): - Master's in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education

The Degree in Basic Education is constituted, in accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 43/2007, of 22 February, as a condition for access to training for teaching. Lasting 6 semesters, it aims to provide the acquisition of academic skills, of a scientific nature, fundamental and consistent with the teaching levels to which graduates can progress, when selecting their master's area.
The objectives of this Course are:
- Develop knowledge, skills, attitudes and skills in the field of education;
- Develop solid and structured academic training, resulting from the acquisition of knowledge from different areas of knowledge
| ACADEMIC EXITS
The Degree in Basic Education is constituted, in accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 43/2007, of 22 February, as a condition of access to training for Early Childhood Education teaching and 1st and 2nd Cycle Teachers. Lasting 6 semesters, it aims to provide the acquisition of academic skills, of a scientific nature, fundamental and consistent with the teaching levels to which graduates can progress, when selecting their master's area: Pre-School Education; Teaching the 1st Cycle of Basic Education; Teaching the 1st and 2nd Cycle of Basic Education.
| PROFESSIONAL OUTLETS
- Integrate multidisciplinary teams with educational support and cooperation functions within and outside the Education system;
- Design Education projects within the scope of non-formal education and participate in their promotion in local authorities, summer camps, libraries, ATL's, hospitals, museums, parks and gardens, educational farms, summer camps, theaters, associations, foundations and cultural centers and social, among others;
- Participate in the promotion of Education projects within the formal educational system and support the development of educational activities, particularly in Nurseries and Kindergartens and in the 1st and 2nd cycles of Basic Education: school clubs, monitoring of study visits, support for accompanied study , monitoring curricular extension activities, among others;
- Advise the Executive Councils of School Groups;
- Support the inclusion of children in designated educational contexts.
