Focused on cultural interpretation and tourist information, this course is divided into 6 learning domains, highlighting the Tourist-Cultural, Historical/Contemporary, Linguistic, Entrepreneurship and Professional Practice and Interpersonal Relationship components, completed by 7 Masterclasses in the fields of Marketing and Development, Accounting, Legislation, Health and Safety and Ethics and Professional Deontology. In the linguistic domain, the student can choose between German, French or Spanish (minimum 3 students).


This highly specialized training takes place on a b-learning basis , which is distributed over a total of 670 hours of learning through: synchronous sessions, grouped into 15 curricular modules and 7 thematic masterclasses; self-employment; simulated in-person practice in a real context with a 9-day (90-hour) tourist circuit across the country (included in the course), accompanied by an official interpreter guide; and 30 hours of guided study tours.

 

After successfully completing this training, students will be able to enroll in the SNATTI Quality Tests for the official National Interpreter Guide Certification , between the months of March and October, as long as they have completed their degree in one of the following areas: Tourism, History , Languages, Architecture, Translation, International Relations, Public Relations, Psychology or Communication Sciences. The course will allow the student to compete for certification Clean&Safe (when made available by Turismo de Portugal, IP).


 

| GOALS
    • Train competent professionals in the area of Tourist Information and Interpretation of Portuguese Culture.
    • Provide a solid theoretical component, emphasizing the application of practical knowledge in a real context;
    • Ensure excellent complementary training from the perspective of acquiring knowledge, or from the perspective of consolidating and updating knowledge in the area.
    • Strengthen knowledge through the Historical-Cultural components, Tourist Information, Languages, Innovation and sustainable tourism development at local, regional and national level.
    • Provide the acquisition of a set of soft skills in the areas of communication and storytelling, group management, leadership and personal marketing.
    • Contribute to the possibility of acquiring Clean & Safe certification by Turismo de Portugal, IP
    • Contribute to qualification and certification by SNATTI.


| RECIPIENTS
    • Graduates in Tourism, History, Languages, Architecture, Translation, International Relations, Public Relations, Psychology or Communication Sciences (with access to the SNATTI Quality Tests).
    • Applications from graduates in any degree area not mentioned in the previous point will be accepted (without access to the SNATTI Quality Tests).
    • Students and professionals with a need to acquire, deepen or update knowledge in the area of Tourist Information and Interpretation of Portuguese Culture.
    • Portuguese citizens or those of foreign nationality who wish to acquire knowledge of Portuguese culture.
    • Portuguese language and culture teachers, teaching in foreign institutions.
    • Operators and other foreign Tourism Agents operating in the Portuguese market.
    • Residents of foreign nationality and holders of a degree awarded by a non-Portuguese institution, who wish to legally practice the profession of interpreter guide in Portugal, in their language of origin.
    • Undergraduate students and professionals with a specific interest in one of the training areas may attend separate modules in this postgraduate course.

    • Cultural technician at Embassies or other diplomatic institutions;
    • Entrepreneurship and creation of a tourism business
