| COURSE OBJECTIVES

    • Promote the personal and professional development of early childhood educators and primary school teachers.
    • Raise awareness of early childhood educators and primary school teachers to the importance of science education in the first years of learning.
    • Promote the acquisition of knowledge and the development of skills related to scientific and pedagogical learning in pre-school education and the 1st Cycle of Basic Education.
    • Promote in trainees analysis and reflection on practice based on their own teaching-learning concepts.
    • Provide situations that allow educational professionals to reflect on how (new) knowledge and skills can be transferred to their practices.

      • Transitions: continuities and discontinuities, this being the guiding and unifying theme on the horizon of this course.
      • Educational Environments and their Connections: structuring element of pedagogical activity.
      • Planning and Assessment, as interdependent acts that are revisited throughout the exploration of different themes.
      • Development of scientific awareness
      • Development of activities in Natural and Social Sciences
      • Development of teaching strategies
      • Preparation of final works.
      • Presentation of work and conclusion of training
